Position Title: Guest Experience & Housekeeping Manager
Deployment Location: One of the Karibu Camps located in Serengeti, Ngorongoro, or Tarangire National Parks (The selected candidate will be assigned to a specific camp based on operational requirements.)

Position Summary:
Karibu Camps & Lodges Ltd is seeking an experienced and service-focused Guest Experience & Housekeeping Manager to lead the housekeeping operations and guest experience delivery at one of our exclusive safari camps. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest care while working closely with the camp’s operations team, including the Store Keeper, for smooth inventory management and supply coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all housekeeping operations at the assigned camp, ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, staff quarters, and laundry services meet the company’s cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Conduct daily team briefings to assign tasks, communicate priorities, and reinforce service expectations.
- Supervise, coach, and motivate the housekeeping team through regular feedback, on-the-job training, and performance monitoring.
- Enforce strict adherence to the company dress code and grooming standards for all housekeeping staff while on duty.
- Ensure readiness of guest rooms and public spaces through daily room checks and property inspections, addressing any deficiencies immediately.
- Handle guest requests, housekeeping-related complaints, and feedback professionally to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Oversee laundry operations, including proper washing, ironing, and safe storage of linens, uniforms, and guest laundry.
- Manage lost and found items according to company policy, ensuring proper documentation and secure handling.
- Coordinate regularly with the on-site Store Keeper for the requisition and inventory management of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities.
- Monitor stock usage and participate in planning for timely supply replenishment to avoid operational delays.
- Implement and oversee deep cleaning schedules, preventive maintenance plans, and seasonal housekeeping projects.
- Ensure compliance with all health, hygiene, and safety regulations, conducting periodic refresher training for the housekeeping team on sanitation practices and the safe use of chemicals and equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with the Camp Manager, Kitchen, Maintenance, Store Keeper, and Front Office teams for smooth daily operations and consistent guest service.
- Maintain clear records of staff duty rosters, inventory usage, maintenance issues, guest feedback, and lost & found logs.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in housekeeping or guest service within the hospitality industry (lodge, hotel, or safari camp environment preferred).
- Strong understanding of housekeeping operations, supply coordination, inventory control, and hygiene standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a remote, camp-based setting.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in English is required, Kiswahili is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle responsibility for the overall housekeeping function at one specific camp.
- Experience with supply management and working with inventory systems is an added advantage.
- Physically fit and mentally prepared to work in remote areas with rotational schedules.
