We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission of fostering a positive environment.

Hesu Investment Ltd is licensed under Tanzania Revenue Authority to operate ICD facility since 2012. Its well-located depot site includes 9 acres of paved yard; with the capacity to store 3800 Twenty Foot equivalent units (TEUS) stacked 5 high. Our Vision is to establish ourselves as the leading Container and Transport Logistics provider, our Mission is to exceed our client’s needs by consistently improving our quality services. Our team is comprised of talented individuals who are driven to achieve excellence in ICD, CFS Industry.

Job Title: Procurement Manager (1 Post)

Job Overview:

Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the transportation department within the company and will be reporting to General Manager. Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing the procurement function within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The holder of this post will collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs, negotiate with suppliers, and establish strong vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

➢ Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment within the procurement department.
Ensuring Effective use of the systems that are used in the company. eg. SAP

➢ Policy and Procedure Development:

Create and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
Establish guidelines for vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.

➢ Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Assess and manage risks associated with the procurement process.

➢ Vendor Management:

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with potential suppliers.
Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and address any issues or concerns.
Monitor vendor performance and implement improvement strategies as needed.

➢ Contract Negotiation:

Oversee the negotiation of contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

➢ Reporting:

– Budget preparation, cost analyses, and reports preparation and presentation

➢ Budget Management:

Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Monitor and control departmental expenses to meet budgetary goals.

➢ Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement activities.
Implement strategies to minimize the impact of supply chain disruptions.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including department heads, to understand their procurement needs.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement alignment with overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Years of progressive experience in procurement, with a focus on leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and industry trends.
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
Leadership and team management experience. – Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Requirements:

Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
Familiarity with relevant software and tools for procurement management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
